Sounds like the 'off brands' are more off than one might think. That's good to know.

Okay the cord I bought seemed to be broken or something of the sort. I ordered the authentic Nokia cable and everything seems to working fine. I still can't get over the fact of how horrible ringtones on my phone sound though.

I just bought a Nokia 6101 and also ordered a usb cable from ebay to use with the phone. I can't seem to synchronize my Microsoft Outlook contacts to my phone even though I have it set up in settings. How do I correct this problem?

Also when transferring ringtones to my phone it takes incredibly long, could this be because I don't have the authentic Nokia cable?

My last question is about the quality of ringtones. I thought this phone was supposed to be able to play ringtones well but in comparison to my Motorola v300 they sound horrible. I make my rings tones at 44100 Hz with a bitrate of 64kbps.
