Drukaveli, something isn't right here. You're billing cycle cannot end on the 4th and start on the 12th.

It could be that one of those two days is when the bill is actually due. However, the billing cycle never starts or ends on your BILL DUE date.

If you'd like to pay less money, I would suggest adding the line towards the end of your bill cycle. That way you'll be charged a very small prorated amount of the familytime plan, and the activation fee. By the time the next bill comes around, you'll only pay for the family time plan. It'll all add up to the same thing in the long run, but at least this way you can split up the payments and they'll end up being more manageable.

well right now it says Bill Close: 03/04 - i just recently sent out my money order to pay my bill which they already got coz i did #bal# and it said they received my payment on the 26 of feb.

since the partial thing seems pretty, good when should i order the new line? it'll take a couple of days to get in i'd say atleast a week - if u can give me atleast an accurate date of when i should order it please let me know! on my first bill i would love to try to save money lol

If you're current bill was due on March 4th, then that means that you're billing cycle starts on the 7th and ends on the 6th of the following month. To check that this is correct. Dial #646#, it should say "Bill Close: 04/6"

Prorated means you'll only get charged for the amount of time you had the actual plan.

Let's just say, as an example, that you're billing cycle starts on the 4th of the month and ends on the 3rd of the next month. Let's say you have the 3000 minute Regional monthly rate plan that costs $49.99. Say that on the 12th of the month you decide to go ahead and do your family plan. We'll say that there are 31 days in the billing cycle for this example.

For your individual line, you'll only be charged for 7 days of service (from the 4th - 11th). Instead of getting charged the FULL $49.99, you'll only be charged $11.28 for the 7 days (4th - 11th) of being on that plan.

Now we have to factor in the rest of prorated charges for the family plan. The basic family plan is $59.99 monthly. However, because your switching to the family plan on the 12th of the month, you'll only be charged for usage between 12th of the current month through the 3rd of the following month (Remember that in this example, the billing cycle ends on the 3rd). Therefore, the prorated charge would be $46.44

You'd see a billing summary with something similar to:

    Used Services
    Partial Monthly Service Charge for $49.99 3000 Regional Plan (3/4/2006 - 3/11/2006) $11.28
    Partial Monthly Service Charge for $59.99 700 FamiltyTime Plan (3/12/2006 - 4/3/2006) $46.44
    Partial Monthly Service Charge for $3.99 Equip Protection (3/4/2006 - 3/11/2006) 0.90
    Partial Monthly Service Charge for $3.99 Equip Protection (3/12/2006 - 4/3/2006) $3.09
    Partial Monthly Service Charge for $9.99 Unlimited Messaging (3/12/2006 - 4/3/2006) $7.73

    One Time Charges
    Activation Fee $35.00

    Taxes
(there are too many taxes to remember, they also vary depending on where you live)

    Total Charges $104.44 + taxes

Notice how you won't get charged the FULL $9.99 of the unlimited messaging for families. You get a charged a prorated amount because you did not have unlimited messaging at the start of your billing cycle. Also, in the above example, it is assumed that only 1 line has equipment protection. If both lines got equipment protection, add an extra $3.09 to the above total.

You can add a line, then convert to a family plan. When you convert your single line plan into a family plan, be aware that it starts a brand new 1 year contract for both lines.

I understand the confusion with the billing. Currently, you probably have a bill that's due for your current line. If so, just go ahead and take care of that bill. Remember that T-Mobile bills for the PRIOR month of service. You can even add the 2nd line, and still pay your CURRENT bill after you add a 2nd line. Just make sure you pay the bill before the due date on the billing statement.

Here's what will happen on your FIRST bill that includes BOTH numbers. You will be billed:
    -All applicable taxes
-A prorated amound for any features such as text messaging bundles or insurance
-A prorated amount for your single INDIVIDUAL line,
-A prorated amount for your FAMILY PLAN,
    -The $35 activation fee.
-The price of the new phone for the new line

The last one applies only if you order your phone by mail through 1-800-T-MOBILE.

As for your worries about getting double billed, you can relax. You will not be billed the full amount of BOTH the individual line and family plan.

well i'll be opening up a new line for her.. new bill/activation/phone & etc.. i'll probably get a free phone until i find a nice unlocked phone from ebay or something lol and yea she'll be givin her dad or mom the phone including number/bill/etc.. i figured out what i'm goin to do about shippin.. so...

when i order the new phone.. will i have to pay the bill for it? or will customer service join my bill w/ the new bill into a family plan. i know i have to pay a activation fee for it.. but will i have to pay my bill, the new bill, & the new family plan/activation? OR will i only have to pay the new family plan + activation fee after the merge the accounts?

also i talked to a customer srvc rep, and he told me i couldn't add a line to do the family plan he said i had to have 2 cellphones or more already before they can merge into a family plan, can i do wat u jus said? add a line.. maybe i won't get the same guy i talked to before

Well from what I understand you will just be adding a new line of service to your account and convert both lines into a family plan. Well you can call CS if you'd like or you can go into your nearest T-Mobile store and Add-a-Line there. Now which phone are you planning on getting her? They will have a free phone option for you, unless the phone you want is $120(which I think will be needed to pay for up front). There will be a $35 act. fee for her line on the next bill. I'm not too sure about the shipping stuff.

There are different answers based on the info you provided. You have to be a little more specific.

Is your girlfriend going to give ONLY her old phone to her dad? Or is she going to let him have her old phone AND her old number and have him take over the bills?

I'm assuming she will be activating a brand new number, under your name? Is that right? Or is she simply going to take her number, and transfer it to your name so that you both can share minutes on a family plan?

alright me & my gf will be doing a family plan. i got my own line & she got her own, BUT she is about to give her dad her old phone..

i'll be ordering a new fone (for her) under my name again and whenever i get it.. all i have to do is call up cust. & tell em to join up the accounts into a family plan right? - also will this effect my bill. instead of having 2 seperate bill will they be joined into 1? like say for the new fone its like 120 and my next bill will be 80.. will it be 200 + the new fam. plan bill + activation fee? or willl it just be the new fam. plan bill + one activation fee? please help!!

i need answers ASAP!! - if any tmob rep readin plz post up or PM me.

    **ALSO**
