I agree, I wouldn't buy from someone without confirmation. Maybe call moto.

I checked out the ebay seller. He states...

"We are the only ones selling this phone with Quad Bands
    850/900/1800/1900 MHZ
That's right, 850 MHZ is included!
    Read other auctions carefully!"

Funny that they are the only ones, though.

the L6 quandband, it could be a fake because it doesn't state specific details. also on ebay it has unlocked L6 quadband. I don't think I'll take my chances on the L6, might just have to invest in more money for the L7.

i really don't think that's right! i can't find the L6 listed on the moto website to confirm phonescoop's settings. i wouldn't trust that site.

The consequences of not having 850 in tmobile will be that you wont have coverage anywhere on there online map that shows 850 roaming. Typically this is in more rural areas. When on 850 roaming there are no charges. But you will only be allowed to roam where tmobile has roaming agreements. Again, check the online coverage map.

Consider GSM 850 as free extended coverage included in your plan.

sorry I can't edit my post, but hey nickels, i found a unlocked L6 that is "quadband" does that mean it has the 850? it doesn't show the bands it covers so.. i figure it does since the L7 is quadband and has 850 band

notice where it says "850 roaming coverage" on the map key.

the phone i wanted is the L6 but it doesn't have 850, and i can't find the L6 with the 850. i know the L7 has a quadband which has the 850 but it's a little expensive for me. does it matter if i get the L6 even though it has 1900? if it doesn't have 850, will it be roaming or anything? or bad signals? or whats the consequences if it roams alot on 850? and if so, don't tmob have free roaming?

Well RRODRIG meant that if you would like to add-a-line with your unlocked phone, he would activate it for you and then just send you the sim card that you would just slip in your phone and you would be good to go.

I don't know if he can really do it though, I know I can't here because I would need your ID and for you to sign the contract.

If you have a tmobile account then your phone will come with a removable SIM card under the battery. Your phone number and account info is stored in the SIM card and has nothing to do with the phone. You can use ANY GSM phone you want and it will work with your SIM card, as long as it is a tmobile "branded" phone or is unlocked.

If you want to switch phones and don't want to do a contract extension just buy a new phone and put in the SIM card. You don't have to add lines, do extensions, or call customer service at all. You can buy a phone off ebay for a lot less and it will work great. Probably not isurable through tmobile, though, since you didn't buy it through them. Tmobile allows you to configure your phone on their website to use WAP, MMS, and SMS. The configuration is no charge. The thing is you can save enough money doing this that it makes insurance impractical anyway.
