This website worked great for 2 nokias of mine. Use the last code that it gives you.

The technology is the same, both GSM. The phone is just locked to the service provider's SIMs.

A cingular sim will not work with an at&t phone unless it is unlocked. the technology is differant.

Sorry, I'm unfamiliar with phone unlocking. I'll leave your other questions up to other members who might know more about it than me.

No, if the phone is an old AT&T phone you will have to unlock it to put a Cingular SIM in it. Since AT&T and Cingular merged, they might be able to give you a remote unlock code, call and ask them. Now, when you have the phone unlocked and the SIM card in, you will have to configure the MediaNet service with the following link:

    Hope this helps

Hi, I need to know if I buy an AT&T locked phone, will it work with a cingular prepaid SIM card (the *Cingular* prepaid SIM card does work with other Cingular phones) or will I have to unlock it? Also, Will I be able to use MEdia Net on the new phone (Nokia 6820 - the phone I am using now is a Nokia 6010) ?
    Thanks,

    Gino

PS. Is the Nokia 6820 a lot better than the 6820 - like the image quality? I mean like besides the camera/bluetooth/IR/and QWERTY keyboard of course!

And...sorry...One more thing... With the 6820, can you just flipit open to answer an incoming call, or do you have to press the talk key (or whatever)
