Actually what I mean is that the PUK would be the only way to then even USE the phone after entering the wrong code too many times, causing the phone to lock up. Which would tend to happen if they were given a code to enter. Joe avg is going to enter that code until they are prompted to enter the PUK which at that time their phone is locked to the point of not being useable at all.

And yes an unlocking calculator would work (In most cases), as long as you knew to use the 1st or the 7th code generated. And with 5 tries, that's a good thing to know, if #1 doesn't do the job.

Hopefully stonerdave, will triple check his phone's model number (under his battery), to make certain his phone is 1100 or 1100b (also a good thing to know before strating).

Robert is right, no one (with any sense anyway), will post the unlock code, because if it's wrong and you lock up your phone, you'll then need your PUK code (which you can only get from your cell carrier.

But Robert is also right about being able to find several Nokia unlocking sites in the web that are free. Just make sure you do a little research on your phone, in case you are presented with more than one option, when you find a Nokia Unlock Calculator online.

Posting your IMEI in public places is a bad idea. Bad things can happen to your phone. Besides, no one here will post an unlock code for you. Do a google search for "nokia free unlock". You will find what you are looking for. Nokias are very easy to unlock remotely. Also calling your service provider may help. Other phones may require you to pay a small fee to a third party company. It doesn't have to be expensive.
