yea im going to take it apart tommorow and mess around with the mic a little. i dought i could do any more harm to it. plus im pretty good at fixing electronics and things so maybe i'll get lucky and it will be a simple task. i appreciate the help and everything, hopefully i wont have to buy a new phone. thanks

yes...thats what it sounds like. Honestly, if the phone is out of warranty, the cost to send it back to LG and get it fixed is going to be the cost of getting a new phone, unless you can find some local shop to fix it.

You could try it yourself as the phone is messed up already. If all that is not do-able, then maybe try Ebay. You can find some pretty good deals there, or try our For Sale/Trade forum and see if there's something there.

no it doesnt say anything at all, it acts and funtions normal, just the mic will stop working when i call someone, someone calls me, or in the middle of a call.
its weird because its so random, do you think a connection could be lose or something?

Also, it doesn't by chance say "Car Kit Mode" down at the bottom of the screen does it?

This happened to me with my old phone. My mic went out on the phone. One way to test is to try making calls with a earbud or handsfree kit to bypass the mic. If it is broken, take it back to where you got it. Often times there is a 1 year manufacturers warrenty on the phone.
