I recently had the same problem with my new v3. I bought it "unlocked" off e-bay and Cingular gave me the run around about getting the media net working. Since no one at Cingular was very helpful I figured that I should try and figure it out myself.

I took my old phone (a motorola v220) and pulled up the web access settings on it and wrote everything down. Then I went back to my razr and changed all the setting to be exactly like the settings in my old phone. When I did that, everything is fine. So maybe that will work for you...

This link will take you to the T-Mobile wireless configurator, which will allow you to wirelessly transmit the settings to your phone that will allow you to use T-Mobile's web and data services. Hope this does the trick, let me know!

well I don't know much about how WAP access works, but I once bought an 'unlocked' moto online and it was a euro model which was actually the firware and capabilities of the phone one step below. (was only 3band while the US model was quad)

Spread this tip to everyone you know, I got it straight from Motorola sofware tech: You cannot buy a new motorola in the US that is not locked to a provider. That is the only way motorola sells them in the US; to the service providers.

Any 'new' unlocked motorola is either one a retailer ordered, took out of the box and had it hooked up and unlocked (which consitutes a now used phone) or it is the Asian model, which will come with a dozen adaptors to the charger and a bunch of writing thats far from English, and most importantly, different firmware, if not hardware!

If your phone is indeed from europe, you can compare specs by going to motorola.hk and searching for an english menu before browsing to your phone model, and I garrantee you the specs are different.

I just recieved a new unlocked cingular pink razr phone off ebay and the internet won't work (reception is full bars) and reads, "Connection unsuccessful, try again later." My provider is t-mobile so I took it to a dealer to see about getting it fixed and customer care told him the same things that I had already tried: setting the available network to t-mobile and configuring the connection via t-mobile.com. I really am at a loss on how to switch the browser, I also have reason to believe the phone is actually a black razr with pink housing... possibly ordered from europe (charger sent was european with american converter). Help!
