I know two people that wanted there sidekick 2 unlocked and they paid and got the privacy unlock a waist of money! that is only for if your sidekick 2 phone is stolen and you cant use it. To unlock for sim card the only person i have found is at [email protected]

I thought so Richie!! I wasnt too sure but I mean, common sense, ya know? Exactly, like Cingular says Cingular when you start up, and so on. Thank you for confiming this, though!

You are correct Renee. Even though Suncom and T-Mobile both sell the sidekick, each company has a lock on their devices. The devices are specifically made for each company. For example, when you power on or off T-Mobile's SKII, the T-Mobile logo appears on the screen. That would not happen with Suncoms, their's would probably say suncom or maybe even something else. Also, the TMO SKII is configured to work with TMO's internet, as Suncom's SK is not.

RR...isnt it true that if Suncom is the original service provider and the person tried to take that Sidekick to a tmobile, it wont work, cause as tmobile does, theres a lock? If im not mistaken??!! Heres where i would get confused though, Tmobile does sell sidekicks and thats actually a good question... ? I looked this up on the net and came up empty handed..

Suncom is an atlantic region company. They did have the Sidekick, but I am not sure if it can be used with T-Mobile for data. I'm not even sure if it can be unlocked to make phone calls through T-Mobile. I don't see why not. Anyway, If anyone has ever been successful at this, please let us all know.

I would call Suncom and ask them, cause it would be up to SUNCOM as far as i know.. if you bought the phone through suncom, its THEIR lock, NOT tomobiles...tmobile has GSM, which doesnt allow their phones to work with ANY other companys... like sprint uses cdma, ONLY sprint phones work with sprint.. get it?
so call Suncom and ask them...unfortnatuly it has nothing to do with Tmobile at this point, u got the phone with suncom, so its their lock and unlocking decision..
I COULD BE WRONG BUT..this is the only logical answer i can give u

If you have a sidekick I for suncom can you call T-mobile to ask them for a unlcok code so that it can be used for T-Mobile.
