    there is also a free plug in for wimnamp that allows you to select center freq and bandwidth and tries to remove..also based around the centre channel...dowsn't wrok to well...
    In fact most vocal removers don't work that well due the to dynamic range of the human voice

    If you're talking about stripping out vocals from standard audio (wav, mp3), I am familiar with 2 (but they are not free)...

    Yogen (which kind of sucks)
    and Dart Karaoke Studio CDG.
    Both of these take only certain frequency center channel out, so vocals with heavy reverb or other stereo/delay/echo effects won't remove well.

    I think there is also a plugin for WinAmp - but not positive.
