    By all means, call U.S. Cellular and have the phone deactivated. And from what I have seen, U. S. Cellular is a CDMA carrier, which means that the phones they sell are tied only to them and you cannot use a phone from another carrier.

    I lost my phone last night. I think I left it on my vehicle & it fell off,got smashed or something. When you call it ,it rings once & goes to my voicemail. Anyway here is my question. My service is thru US Cellular. I have a nokia phone from a older,expired contract. It was a Cingular contract.The phone says Cingular on it,where my phones now are US Cellular. Can I call US Cellular & have the phone I lost deactivated & this phone that was a Cingular phone activated?Does it matter what service provider the phone was thru.? Will it work with any provider?
