plus, maybe the cingular people with sbc will be able to give you a smaller regional plan with a better price since you use it so little. i'm not sure of their availability, but something to look into.
Doesn't do me any good because Cingular's service is complete crap everywhere I go. It's especially bad where my new house is.

it doesn't seem like Verizon really needs to be competitive in that realm because they have such a large market share for post paid service.

it is still possible to get a phone that operates on Verizon's CDMA network by using locus platinum. They operate on Verizon's towers, however are not Verizon and offer much better deals.

Yep. Verizon's prepaid services just flat out suck. They obviously aren't choosing to be competitive in that regime.

How about any monthly hidden fees with TMob? Do you just buy minutes and forget about everything until the minutes are almost gone?

I guarantee when I switched they never mentioned a new contract. All they said was I can switch over to Cingular free of charge. All I have to do is choose a new Cingular rate plan. In the 6 months I've had a Cingular phone, I've completed maybe a dozen phone calls, and I know it wasn't a bad phone because I had them send me 2 other ones. I called plenty of times to complain about their service, and they kept reassuring me it would improve. Since I had this house on the way, I didn't want to dive into another 2-year contract.
I wasn't implying that you were an idiot, and I'm sorry if it seemed that way. Now about them not telling you that they were going to be putting you under another contact isn't fair. I work with Cingular and we are suppose to inform the customer that when migrating them to Cingular they are required to sign another agreement.

Nic is right. So before you start asking people to leave Cingular...

not to dredge up the old blue vs orange issue, but no one was 'forced' to join cingular. att was phased out. if you decided to renew your att contract you could join cingular, but no one made you join them. at that time you could have chosen verizon, but you 'chose' to stay with cingular.

Yep, every old Blue customer that had to switch to Orange was forced to sign a new agreement. So no matter what, they will charge you if you break your contract before the new 2-year agreement has expired.

Yeah I think so. Which is stupid.

On a side note. I just called Cingular to ask about cancelling my service after this billing period. They informed me that I would have to pay an early termination fee of $150 because I signed a 2 year contract in July of '05. To which I replied, wait I used to be an AT&T customer, and you guys forced me to switch to Cingular. I've been a customer for a lot longer than 2 years. "I know sir, but when you switched over you recieved a free phone, which means you must have signed a new 2 year contract." I didn't recieve any free phone, they forced me to get it because the old one was TDMA. This is a complete crock of ****. I hate Cingular with a passion. If anyone wants to join my boycott, cancel your service, and tell them you're switching to Verizon because you like to get something for your money.
