true, but you wouldn't think that the LCD would kill the phone... I recomend buying a new phone if you can't get this one to work, OR you could buy a new LCD

ya i was wondering about the mobo also....however i would think that if it was cracked it would not have worked the 14 or so hours after the accident

thanks for the welcome and the fast responce! i have not opened it up...yet, so i dont know the condition of the circuits, but could it possibly be the LCD that is stoping it from powering on and not the board itself? The main reason im asking is it did work for about 14 hours after the acident then i turned it off to get on the airplane home and i cant get it to stay on(lights up and then powers down)
    Thanks again,
    Stephen

    Welcome to CPF Stephen!

If you can't turn the phone on, it is most likley fried . You could buy a replacement LCD for the phone, but make sure you get a Ribbon Cable with it to make sure that the old one isn't defective, and if it is, you'll have a replacement. Be careful not to bend it!

Hello, my cellphone's LCD displays both have been broken I was wondering if it would be possible for me to get a used VGA1000/A620 off ebay or something and substitute the headpeace with the displays off the good phone wth my broken phone. I really do not want to loose my phone book and i have a few pictures on there from disney world with my family(where the phone was broken).

I also do not know if the whole phone is FUBAR because when it first happened i was able to still use the phone with the broken LCD screens, i just couldnt see what they said....now I cannot even turn the cell on -_-. Please help me.

    Thanks,
    Stephen
