    mac users:

use quicktime 7 pro to export mp3 snippets as 3G files

before saving, check the options palette and switch the default settings from "voice" to "music"

lots of custom options, works great

bluetooth to phone and they work just fine. they sound great too.

    or post the methods

of converting the mp3's to 3gp's?

As far as I know, samsung's do not set MP3's as ringers, only MMF's... check out our ringtone section of our site to learn more about MMF's!

I just got my T509 and I am having the same problems. The phone did not come with good ring tones at all. I can't set the mp3's as my ring tone.
Do you think that even if you set the ring volume as loud as it gets it is still not that loud. I put the phone in my back pocket and sometimes i miss calls cuz the speaker is covered by the pocket.

I have run a few searches to see if anyone else has logged on discussing the new SGH-t509 phone but it appears I may be the first.

I have the phone, like it a lot...so far.

I originally found this forum by looking to see why I couldn't set my own mp3s as a ringtone (of course). I have tried some of the instructions available out there but I don't think they apply to my handset. Also, I am using an Apple computer so some of the free software that is available for converting tones won't work for me.

So, if anyone has any advice or thoughts on ringtone making for my new new phone and for the Mac user that would be stellar. If not, it's just cool knowing this forum exists.
