Thanks. I've contacted the seller for his/her thoughts, but no reply thus far. I hope to hear his/her thoughts soon -- of course, I'm very appreciative of the knowledge of this board, which likely knows far more than the person who is merely selling my phone on eBay. Fortunately, the seller seems to have quite a few satisfied customers. Unfortunately, it seems that I may have gotten a "lemon." Do others agree? Is there anything left to try before giving up hope? Thanks again.

It sounds like it is the actual phone, which is defective. I would try talking to the Ebay seller you purchased it from. How long ago was it when you purchased it? Maybe there is a return policy or something.

I bought a quad-band unlocked SLVR on eBay. I'm used to CDMA phones (I've used Verizon for years (RAZRs, as well as Samsung & LGs), but wanted a global phone for my international travel), so I got the SLVR, along with a "MOBAL" SIM card (SIMs are somewhat new to me). Anyhow, I got the phone before the SIM -- I charged the thing up, and then tried to play with it. I couldn't do anything, however, as it told me something like, "Please inset SIM." Completely understandable.

Well, now the SIM came. I put it in the back, and turned it on. It started right up, but now it restarts every 10-15 seconds, regardless of whether I touch the phone or not Interesting -- it's not that it doesn't turn on, it's just doesn't stay on. And, frankly, it's not on long enough for me to test whether I can call out of, or into, the phone.

Is this a hardware error? Supposedly, I bought a "new" (specified as NOT refurbished) OEM (no Cingular / T-Mobile, etc. label) Quad-Band L6 SLVR.

Does anyone have ANY idea what I can do here? Anything to try? Even what the next best step may be? Is there any reason to believe the problem may be the SIM, not the phone? Again, though I'm pretty savvy with CDMA phones, GSM is new to me -- it certainly doesn't seem very complicated. Any idea what I can try, short of tossing this phone in the garbage?

Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
