I called T-Mobile about htis and they say it is because it was a pre-paid account that was originally not designed to support call details. WOW! The lady actually said to me that she doesn't have to worry about it with HER kids. Yep, that's the problem with America! Lack of involvement to who your kids friends are, what they are doing, etc! Doesn't mean you need to follow them with a microscope, you just need to do routine checks and balances!!!

I agree...I can't stand T-mobile, they have horrible plans and they want too much per month for their plans. I have about 8 months left until my 2 year contract is up with them, then I'm going to boost or something else that doesn't require a contract. My husband and I ONLY have 750 whenever minutes that we both share, we always run out before the end of the month. I have called and asked if we could get a better plan and they wont let us..."you have to pay your bill ontime for 6 months straight." they said, I was only 1 to 2 days late and only cause I ONLY get paid once a month...they are such idiots!!!!

Do you have to have a parent account to have the kids plan? Or can you just get the kids plan separately?

I have been a tmobile customer for about 4-5 years. And I recently signed up for the Kid connect phone for my child. I was under the impression that I would be able to monitor calls in and out going online along with my tmobile plan. (this was told to me prior to signing up). I found out that i cound not have online access. Nor am I allowed to call and get information on the activeity of the calls. My child has been receiving text messages from an unknown number and I am unable to get any records from kid connect on this particular #. I am told to file a police report to start an investigation (How long will that take?) Or continue to change my childs number each time this happens. Because My daughter is instructed to delete text msgs from unknown numbers there is no record on the phone of the number. So I have to wait until the number shows again prior to find out what it is.... While tmobile deducts from the 50 anytime minutes. So far she has received well over 30 text msgs.

    Looking for any suggestions!

This plan doesn't compare to Cricket Wireless' plan for kids.

They're really pushing the unlimited weekends and M2M, not the anytime minutes. With this plan kids can't run up their bills, there is no overage charges. Once you run out of minutes, parents may buy more minutes for them with refill cards(each card is $.40/min.). They still can talk all they want during weekends or to there parents who have T-Mobile aswell with M2M.

The text messaging will deduct from their whenever minutes. 4 text messages equal 1 whenever minute. With the refill cards, they can put more minutes on their account which may also be used for text messages.

The M2M is so that the kids will be able to keep in touch with their parents as much as they'd like. Their trying to get parents and their kids on T-Mobile.

T-Mobile is offering a new plan called Kid Connect. It's $19.99/mo. and includes the following:
    - 50 Whenever Minutes
    - Unlimited Weekends
    - Unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile

It's marketed towards parents so that they may control their kids bill. Their kids may not go over their 50 whenever minute allotment, but when/if they run out they may purchase extra minutes with refill cards that can be purchased at most T-Mobile dealers, Wal-Mart, Target, etc. If they do run out of minutes, they may still use their unlimited weekends and mobile-to-mobile. You may choose to use any T-Mobile phone currently offered, or an old T-Mobile phone you may have had previously.
