Hmm... my first x427 did that. My oven (one of those touch-sensitive deallies) broke recently becuase I dropped a pan onto it and knocked sauder off... maybe you damaged something when you shut it hard?

I'm sure it's not supposed to do that! If the phone is insured, contact your carrier and ask them about it. Even if the phone isn't insured, they might have a store nearby that can look at it, they may or may not charge you if it's something easy to fix.
