I would check with ebay.com or check out cutepcs.com (all cell phone accessories)

I have to wonder if the Verizon corporate employees are telling those people that it will void the warranty.

Yes, you can sometimes get around the warranty issue by keeping the original plates. However, some of the newer phones have paint on the screws which let a technician know that they have been tampered with. If you get an anal technician, they have every right to say the warranty is void even after the original plates have been put back on.

ive been selling verizon and faceplates for 6 years and i have never had a faceplate crack an lcd screen. I also know that if you have to take screws out to change a faceplate it voids the warranty but if you keep the old one (like i tell my customers) you can put it back on to get a warranty exchange. I painted mine because my warranty was over and i couldnt get it swapped out if i wanted to. plus mine looks better than anything available.
my verizon corporate store sneds people over here every day for me to change the faceplate so they can swap it out...

I wouldn't mess with any face plates or paint or anything if I were you. They will void the warranty on the phone, and the face plates put extra pressure on the outside screen. They can cause problems with the outside screen (cracking etc) or the camera. Don't mess with them unless you have insurance because if you have a problem, you won't get any help at a Verizon store.
