Try bitpim. You can convert mp3's with it or just use windows media player. It converts before it moves mp3 to phone.

Do you have to get a pix/txt package in order to send a picture e-mail to your phone? I never txt I just use my phone to talk so, if I receive a txt message I get charged per message. Can I still E-mail my phone under this plan and achieve getting my .mid for a ringtone??

You don't really have to change the mp3 file to a .mid to get them to work on your phone. Send me a pm and I can tell you how to enable mp3 on your phone. I found this trick on the web, and I don't know if i will get in trouble for mentioning a phone mod on here or not.

I wish I still had that plan. I upgraded from the $5/month plan when I got my new 8300, which was a stupid decision. I got $100 off the phone for signing a new contract but I'll end up paying more because now I'm paying $10/month for the text/pix plan. So I actually lost money by signing a contract, and now I'm bound to a contract. Stupid.

Wow...thats one of the old package's ( I have that one too for $5 a month).

Just do as abw say's and you'll be ok. Just remember that you only have 50 non Verizon text's that you can send.

Yes. Rename the mp3 file to a .mid extension (so it's like song.mid), if you haven't done so already. Then attach it to an email and send it to [email protected] (example if your number is 1-234-567-8910, you would send it to [email protected]). It will be received as a picture message on your phone. When you view the pix message, you can choose to save the sound as a ringtone.

Yesterday i went and upgraded my phone through verizon, i upgraded from the vx7000 to the vx8300. i love the phone a lot, i got a 256mb microsd card with the phone. so i put some mp3 files on there to let my phone play them, today i add some pics for wallpapers and etc. now im onto ringtones.

formerly i used mobile 17 to upload and create my ringtones, loved the site. now my phone isnt listed there to choose from so i need an alternative. every site i go on says differently; so right now im sitting here scratching my head....i picked out a song i want, took it into cdex and converted it to wav then opened up windows sound recorder and cropped it. converted it back to mp3 and now i realized i dont have a bitpim cable or whatever that is.

is there any way i can email this file to myself or put it on my microsd card to set as a ringtone? thanks in advance and sorry if this was discussed many times before.
