    yes verizon is known for locking most of the fun out of the phones; java, apps, and even bluetooth....but it can be unlocked on some phones and still taken advantage of.

    Yes. They have contracts with other companies that give those companies exclusivity for games, etc. If they allowed people to download their own games and whatnot to their phones, Verizon would be in breach of contract.

    Verizon has ranked #1 for years with consumer reports...and is probably the best carrier....in my OPINION.
    But you might be in an area where Cingular is stronger than verizon.
    Ask some of your friends or coworkers what carrier they have and if they are happy with their coverage. Thats the best way to determine who is better in your area.

    Is there a poll on what provider has the best signal? If not, how would you rank? Im just curious where Verizon stands
