Sure you might save a little money with that company, but you prabibily don't get as good of extended network, no nights and weekends, no unlimited calling to one of the nations largest networks. Thats why I would recomend Verizon, or Cingular.

Now THAT'S funny! That reminds of that cel phone commercial (can't remember who) where this family has a shared plan and they all talk really, really fast to save their minutes...

    Tips for saving minutes:

    1) When something is funny, say LOL instead of taking the extra 3-4 seconds to laugh.
    2) Do not use "Hello" or "Good bye" anymore. Jump right into the reason for the call, and hang up as soon as everything necessary has been said.
    3) Eliminate articles and conjunctions from speech. (No more saying "a" "an" "the" "and" "or" "but" etc.)
    4) For reference to mutual friends between yourself and the person you are talking to, use their initials instead of their names.
    5) Decorate your phone so it looks so hideous (or girly if you are a guy) that you would not want to be seen with it. This will provide extra incentive to hurry up your conversation when you are in public, so you can quickly put the phone away and hide it.
    6) If you are the caller, write down everything you want to talk about so you don't spend an extra 2-3 seconds thinking about what else you were calling the person for.
    7) If you have a flip or slide phone, press the "End call" button at the end of a conversation, as flipping or sliding the phone to end the call takes approximately 3/4 of a second longer to end the call.
    8) No more leaving messages. Leaving messages only results in the person calling you back to talk about something you already talked about. That is wasted time on the phone.
    9) Keep a low battery so that you absolutely cannot talk more than a certain amount of time in a day.
    10) If the other nine methods don't cut it, use text messages instead of talking.

Talking less would be obvious, and yeah... maybe paying 10 bucks for extra minutes would be a good idea. That's what i like with nextel for my kid is they have a free incoming plans, so her friends... for the most part... call her.

How do you like VOIP (Vonage)? I'm going to start selling the service (different carrier) in my store, but I don't have any personal experience with it.

Yeah, but we dont have Cingular, well we do but dont. Click that link in my sig and then you can see what Im talking about. Its Consumer Cellular. They re-sell Cing time the way they want to so we dont get a Cing plan we get one og their plans with Cing service. I hope everyone understands now, lol.

Yeah I'd have to say that even having 1000 texts messages does a lot...Having a plan with free weekends always helps too
