The a930 only comes with about 20mb of free space from the manufacturer.
So it is best to buy a memory card just to ensure that you dont have to sqeeze to much on so little of space. I also heard that your phone could lock up if you fill the internal memory.(Not sure tho)I have a 512mb card that cost me $28 from BestBuy. But it cost me another $20 for a cheap card reader.
So your looking at about $50-$60.

I got my ringtones to work but still no luck on the music player tho

You can use your internal memory for that. But it depends, if your gonna have alot of pics and ringtones you probably would want to get a memory card. but if its not gonna take up alot of space you probably dont need one.

alright so I have a question. In putting ring tones on, adding new pictures ect using bitpm, would you need to buy an micro sd card to do that? or is the internal memory large enough to get by without?

I checked there and i couldnt find my model(sch-a930). Can you tell me another site where i can download the driver for free?
P.S.- When i plug my UBS into my computer, it says "samsung cdma technologies" and then says "Sanyo data cable".

Well, first thing first - Sanyo??? That shouldn't even come up. lol As for your driver, check out Samsung's website. THE FIRST RULE OF A DRIVER PROBLEM IS TO CHECK THE MANUFACTURER'S WEB SITE!

i ordered a data cable and software for my samsung a930. when i tried to install the data cable it said i needed to put in "Sanyo USB Cable Driver NT" into my computer and it didnt come with that disk. i already installed BitPim and its not recognizing or decting my phone. It also says that the USB cable hasnt passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with my windows XP.

What do I do? Please help!

Here is the solution for data transfer A930.
It took me for at least 3 days to figure it out. First of all, I would like to thank you all giving me info. It is simple as 1 2 3. Here we go...

    1. I bought Vcast Music Essentials Kit from Verizon Shopping mall
    2. installed Samsung USB driver from the CD
    3. installed BitPim (Welcome to BitPim)
    4. BANG. It recognized my phone and sync. all the data from my phone.

    SIMPLE enough?

Unfortunately, I could not purchase the 18 pin data cable in Korea. Eventhough, I went to a Big Samsung Service Center in Seoul, they did not carry USB 18 pin data cable anymore. Moreover, A930 model is not exist in Korea. I guess it is for only other countries. Anyway, I finally bought Vcast Music Essentials Kit for using the data cable included.
I installed USB driver which was included and install PCLink software again.
However, my computer recognize the A930, but PCLink not. Now I am stuck.
    Whatelse I can do...

Normally, in Korea, you can get the software free and sometimes the store give the data cable free when you purchase the unit.

Good luck with anything Korean (service, products, etc) being carried over to the US. I wish I had the 10 megapixel camera phone that they do, but sadly, it won't work here. You can get the cable online from Verizon or from any corporate store. Some indirect stores probably carry them as well.

I purchased the data cable and software for $20 (onsale from $30) from the Verizonwireless store.

I installed the drivers, then downlaoded bitpim. I select my phone as the a950 and this works for the a930.

I don't know what else could be wrong for some of you
