Problem solved for now - went to Tmobile and they gave me a new sim card. So far so good....

Okay, I've completed my testing. I have 3 phones: the new SLVR I've been using with my Tmobile prepaid, my old tmobile phone, and a Cingular phone.

The problem I have is that, after 2 weeks of working, all of a sudden the SLVR is coming up with CHECK SIM as soon as I turn on the phone. These are the steps I took to test:

    - remove SIM from SLVR, put back in old Tmobile phone. Everything works fine.
    - remove SIM from Cingular phone, put in SLVR, everything works fine.
    - put Tmobile SIM back in SLVR, error again.

It looks like it's not a tmobile problem, but why would my Cingular sim work but my Tmobile sim doesn't? The Tmobile sim doesn't seem to have a problem in the old phone.

Where do I go now? Do I assume it's a problem with the phone? I bought this on Ebay as an unlocked phone but it's been almost a month so I'll probably have to go right to Motorola. What can I anticipate for warranty service with Moto?

    Thanks!

Do you have another sim card you could use to see if it is the phone or sim card? It could be a prepaid, or a post-paid sim card. Maybe a friend's or family member's?

I bought a new unlocked Slvr phone from ebay a couple weeks ago. Transferred my prepaid Tmobile sim card, and all has been good until now. All of a sudden whenever I turn on the phone it says "check SIM". Any ideas???
