oh and to give you an Idea of what I am running....here's my spec

    INtel P4 1.8 ghz
    512Mb DDR
    Leadtek i845D Mainboard
    Leadtek GF2MX DH Pro
    17" LG 795FT Flatron Monitor
    21" Hitachi Monitor(CM2185 i think)
20Gb Seagate Baracuda (OS AND APPZ)
    80Gb Segate Baracuda (music only)
ST AUDIO DSP24MkII 8in 8out soundcard with the the ADAC2000 Rack Module.
ADAM ADAT Interface for the Above

    LG 32x12x40 burner
    (soon to come sony DVD+RW)

all running under win XP with sonar XL 2.0

when recording @ 24/48 and monitoring effect, i am getting about 7ms latency...which I am most happy with.

I use outboard compressor when recording(alesis 3630) and a Behringer Virtualiser for some mastering Fx....
    Mics
    SM 57/58/58beta
SMPro MC01 (same as the tascam) 1" Diaphram Condeser Mic...sounds very sweet on vocals and Acoustic guitar..

can I recomend a fantastic website for this process...

    www.pcmus.com

It is done by a guy called Matt Skinner who is one of the techie reps @ sound and music in melbourne(music hw distributor)

takes you thru all the tweaks, do's and don't's

It is more geared around 2K and XP.

hope it is of use + he has a good tips and tricks section on logic.

Not a fan of logic myself..but each to their own

I'm about to upgrade to a bigger better faster setup for audio recording. Any ideas on combinations of hardware and software for best results? I'm using logic audio v4.7 for the recording process
