I get random texts from my provider but never telemarketers. I only get 1-2 bars in my home but I found that if I set my phone down and use the speakerphone that my calls are quite clear. I find that strange since you can put your keyless entry for your car against your wrist and boost the signal quite a bit. I was always against land lines since I got my 1st cell (why pay for 2 phones), then I had to spend a couple nights in jail, ever tried remembering the land line # of the few people that don't use strictly cells? I only had 1 person to call, my mom :-(

I don't think telemarkaters are allowed to call cellular phones.

So far there hasn’t been any telemarketing on my cell phone.

For those of you that no longer use a land line service, do you get unsolicited calls on your cell phone from telemarketers etc? Often times when registering for online services etc, you are required to provide a phone number. Do you find that you get calls brought on by providing your number in those types of circumstances?

I have a land line but rarely use it. My cell phone is provided by my employer. I don't want to invite unwanted calls to the cell phone.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I dont recommend using a cell phone as a main phone unless your get at least 3 out of 5 bars in your house or 4 out of 7 whichever.

Well if you live in Silicon Valley then that could be a possibility Gadgetgirl. But in Everywhereelse, USA I don't think there will be much of a problem. Plus most of the cell towers have batterys incase the juice runs out. So, no worries

If you are worried about the whole 911 thing, then spring for the phone line and have the peace of mind. Odds are though, your neighbors probably have access to 911 so dont sweat it.
^^^ @ the booze reference. What happend if the neighbors are just as techy and clipped thier phone lines as well? Could you imagine the whole neighborhood without phonelines?
