as it turns out all I needed to do was figure out how to corectly rewrite the gcd file and then found out for this phone you don't have to worry about messing with the amsregsitry file. just do up gcd files for all the ringtones you want, load them all into the phone and then just reset the phone and let it re do the amsregsitry file.

ok so I'm working with a a840 on telus, it will not let me use any of the sound clips for ringtones, the phone says they are all copywrited even the ones I upload and so far file type does not matter.

I've tried qcp, midi's, mp3, and 3gp but get the same response for all.

the mp3 and 3gp play but no sound, no surprise.

So anyone know how to get the phone to allow sound clips as ringtones.
