If they were unable to get the phone numbers out of the phone, a data cable probably won't work either. The machine that transfers phone numbers essentially uses 2 data cables with a machine in the middle. If the cable didn't connect your phone to the machine, I seriously doubt a data cable would connect your phone to a computer. They use the same connection in the phone.

Go to ebay and buy a data cable for $7. Its the only way i have found to get pics off my old phone.

Well, that wouldnt have been a problem, but the a$swipes at Verizon couldnt transfer the phonebook to his new phone. It might be cause we went with a different carrier. But, even then, we brought in his old Verizon phone to see if they could transfer the numbers into that one just so we could be able to see the numbers even if we had to input them manually, and they were unable to do that. So, the data cable seems to be our last resort! We hope it works...it doesnt help that after all the bull with verizon, he ripped his phone in half in frustration.

Look for a USB cable for a Samsung a670. It would probably be cheaper just to pay the $10 to have the numbers transferred into a new phone though.

My husband has the same phone, the Samsung a 670 and his phone took a dump. His screen has gone black, among many other things and he cannot see in order to retrieve his address book. What data cable do we need to purchase in order to download all his numbers?

    Thanks!

Well, like I said...most stores will do it for free. There's a new policy where they'll charge you $20 per ESN change if you do it over the phone.

BUT...it might be worth just shelling out the cash and getting a data cable. Less hassle.

The $35 activation fee only applies when you're activating a new line of service. He would just be doing a few ESN changes which there's no charge for...unless you do it over the phone. Customer service will charge you $20 to change the ESN, but I have no idea why. A store should do it free of charge. If they don't, come see me and I'll do it free of charge.

So ACTUALLY...switching the ESN's back and forth would be cheaper, but a bigger hassle.

Acctually, it would be cheaper to get the data cable (used to be a $35 activation fee for each phone, not sure about now... lol)

the data cable is the smartest route

Take it into a store and have them reactivate your A670. Send the pictures out. Reactivate your new phone a few days down the road.

You could also get a data cable for the A670 and download the pictures to your PC that way, but it would be more expensive. Less hassle though...

I recently upgraded my A-670 to a newer Samsung and already had the number changed so the A-670 is no longer active. The problem is that I have some pictures on the A-670 that I want to get off. Since the phone is no longer is service how do i get the pictures off. I know if i would have thought i would have e-mailed them to my email before the phone was changed but I did not think that far ahead.

    Thanks
