Have you tried FreeBSD / NetBSD? It is one of the best Unix distros.
Checkout these features in FreeBSD. It might be helpful.

very true, I've only heard of it a few times and to my knowledge, it was one of the very best networking distro (hense the "n" in "nubuntu", lol). Something I may work with this or next sememster (damn you COMP TIA!), is probably going to be an older flavor now... who knows

No... (I'm refering to the project, btw) it's nUbuntu says edge.i-hacked.com

The Edge of I-Hacked » nUbuntu closes it’s doors

I am stopping development of nUbuntu due to no longer having any time to do it.
And if you check out nUbuntu - Network Ubuntu, it's no longer connected to any server

Digg.com also confirms that it's nubuntu... but then again... is it just to grab attention?

Confusing nUbutnu with Ubuntu by any chance there Rob?

nUbuntu is just a ripped down version of Ubuntu to do security/server testing and that, and theres a ripped down Desktop version aswell, Ubuntu is still alive and running.

Yeah, it's sad, but nUbuntu is acctually closing it's doors, which is a true shame. Being a strong Windows user, I still respect that it was the TOP security distro/flavor of linux.
