Make sure you also get a good data plan on your sim if your going to be swapping sims with your SK2.
First: we've already established that earlier in this thread.
Second: I'm talking about the Sidekick 3, not the Sidekick II. But it still would be cheaper to get a full price sidekick and a RAZR through them as I would be saving $180 with the RAZR and only $50 if I got the Sidekick discounted and RAZR full price.

What do you mean use the sim in both phones? They'll only give me one SIM.

And in this case, it's cheaper to buy through them because I want a sidekick and another phone (I don't care what it is) and let's say if I pay full price on the SK3 ($350) and buy a RAZR through them discounted ($69), it's cheaper than getting the discounted SK3 ($300) and an unlocked RAZR which is anywhere from $200-$300.

I despise Motorola phones. I find them really difficult to navigate....and are usually a piece of junk.
I love Samsungs though. Very user friendly. I would suggest the Samsung t619 because it's a phone that not many people have, unlike the RAZR, which I'm sick of seeing.

    Ok, sounds good.

What do you think I should get....a t619 or a RAZR?

    Decisions, decisions.....

Naw, it should be pretty simple to do. Just tell the T-Mobile rep that you want to start up an account and get the RAZR (or Sidekick, whichever you prefer) for a discount. Then say that you want to buy another piece of equipment at full price. The rep should understand.

Good Idea. Thank god for the SIM card. My mom got my sister a Treo on Sprint and she had to get a whole new line not only because it wouldn't work with two phones but because Sprint is evil and marks up the treo to a whooping $650. I'm glad I don't have to do that.

I think I'll get a RAZR with all the discounts and pay full price for a Sidekick. Will this be tricky to do?

If you are a new customer to T-Mobile then you should get quite a discount on the mobile equipment of your choice. The second phone would probably have to be bought at full retail price...unless you are willing to set up a 2nd line on your account, then you would probably get a discount on the 2nd piece of equipment you buy...but then you have the problem of paying for two lines of service when you are only using one. See what I mean? I'd say the easiest way of going about it is to buy one phone at a discount by setting up service and buy the second phone at retail price.

Thanks....now if I wanted to do this two phone system, could I get a discount on the Sidekick and let's say a RAZR? Or just one of them?

    Thanks.

You can't have two sim cards with the same phone number running at the same time. It's not possible. If you had one sim card for both phones...that would work because the phone number is attached to the sim card, not the phone. So if you wanted to use the cell phone for talking you put the sim in it and go. Then, when you wanted to text on the sidekick, take the sim out of the phone and place it in the sidekick. That's the only way to go about having 2 phones with the same number. Otherwise, you'll end up permanently deactivating a sim card if you do it the way you had hoped...and you would be out of a $25 sim card.

I was wondering if I could get two phones with their own SIM card and share the same line. Is this possible? I'd like to have a Sidekick to text and do all that and then a quad band phone that I could use for more talking and while abroad as the Sidekick does not have the 900 MHz band.

    Thanks.
