    Those are some strange requests:

-You want a GSM phone. GSM phones are the only ones that have SIM cards. Also they tend to be less locked up and will actually allow you to do the things you want unlike most CDMA phones.

-Most phones have BT now. If they don't they are crap. They have not released a phone in the last 2 years that was any good at all that does not have BT. All allow you to completely turn BT off.

-Most phones have have cameras. Basically see my comment above about BT, it is the same thing. While you may think you would have no need for it, you would be surprised how often it comes in handy. ie, you want to remember the price and specs of a couple different laptops? just take a pic of their price cards. You need to show a customer/client/friend what something looks like? just take a pic and instantly send it to them. You see something funny/interesting/amusing? take a pic and laugh about it with friends later. etc.

-I live in Canada so can't say based on personal experience, but based on everything I have heard I would say deffinetely go with Cingular. (for phones, features, plans, reception)

-Cingular is getting the W810 any day now, I own one and it is a great all around phone. It also has the best camera (2MP autofocus) of any camera phone available from any carrier in North America (yes, I know you said you don't want one), it also has a great MP3 player, and a built in FM radio.

i forgot to mention. tmobile is not in my area while verison is(just recently). to get tmobile i gott scam address them and then i'll be here roming for free on a partner network. this is fine with mi, however if it means certain services would be unavailible, i want to know about it. thanks!

hi. im happy to be leaving the crappiest ripoff cell service ive seen, tracfone, as my year of double minuts just finished. so im looking for a new provider and phones. i'd like to get some opinions about this. im in the states, thinking Tmobil, verison, cingular. i will probably be going for some type of familly plan whichs means i'd be able to tack on an extra phone and line for myself and have in-calling.

im interested in trying to play around with connecting one phone at home to dsl or cable and using it for calling thru voip services, or maybe as a way to sms free, or possibliy as some type of data proxy to the net when im not home (if technology gods will it in the future).

so i want to make a good choice in technology/ service. it seemed like tmobile had more phones to offer than verison. thats the most i got so far.

heres a few of my preferences, however im open to any reasons why i would want to reconsider them as well, i'll appreciate the feedback.

-im the type that would prolly perfer to hook up a laptop to my phone than have a computer in my phone.

-im maybe against having bluetooth. i may be trying to find a phone that dosent have it but can still do (wired) data related stuff if possible. or if i figgured a reason i want bluetooth, id at least like to be able to turn it off reliably.

-i dont really care about having a camera. (maybe id paint over the lens if i end up wit one, lol!)

-i like the phones with removeable sim cards (only gsm?). i would perfer to have an unlockable sim card containing phone if possible.

thats about it. id really like to know what you guys feel about some of this stuff. also looking for statements like this: "having a _____ feature is cool cause it alows you to do this _______ "(something cool to do with a fone thats not average feature).

thanks so much in advance. and props to the posters here, im just starting to learn this stuff, but ive read some really interesting and informative threads here allready.
