Text messages and picture messages are not considered as the same thing by carriers, especially when it comes to the money aspect of it; surprise, surprise!!

I have Verizon and I have a 1000 text message bulk package that I pay $15/month for. They call it In Messaging and it's no extra charge when I text between other Verizon people, that includes ANY kind of message: text, pix and video. However, even if I send a pic or video to someone else with Verizon, I still get charged one minute off my monthly usage allotment if it is a picture or video clip; they refer to it as a Data call. Not sure how it works with other carriers but definitely something to look into.

The typical standard for incoming and outgoing messages is ten cents, in or out. For pix and vids, it's twenty-five cents.

I don't think so unless you have the full data package on your plan.

Well, I have a multimedia package....1000 text messages. So would it just take off one of my texts?

I am with Cingular, and have a Samsung d807. I love the phone, but have a question:

I found a picture that I liked, and saved it on my computer. Then, I got into Yahoo, and sent the picture to my cell phone number. In a few seconds, I received the picture in a multimedia message, and it said it was "retreiving it" then I was able to view the picture, and save it as my wallpaper.

Im wondering, does it cost anything to do that? Did that connect me to the internet? If it costs to do that, How much?
