Unfortunately, all phones are this sensitive. At least, we should treat them all as if they were. At any rate, I am glad that you resolved your issue, for the time being anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I keep the phone in my pocketbook (no liquids), but I was in Miami a few days ago and it was pouring rain and humid. Maybe that did it.

At any rate, I took the battery out (again), this time for a longer period of time. When I put the phone back together again, the white screen of death was gone. I think I'll look for a cover of some sort to help protect it from moisture. If the rain in Miami did this, then it is extremely sensitive to moisture.

The phone has a 1 year manufacturers warranty, so you should take it to a Verizon Wireless store and have them take a look at it. Most likely they will replace it.

As for the water damage, you should know that a phone doesn't have to get "wet" to be water damaged. Simply being in a damp room, such as your bathroom after you take a shower is enough to trigger the water sensitive sticker in your battery compartment (or on the battery). My point is, you don't actually have to submerge it to damage it.

Any tips on how to fix a "white screen of death" on the inside screen of my LG8300? The only posts I've seen on this involve water logged cell phones. This phone did not get wet, so that doesn't seem to be the problem. I got this from Verizon in January, but with no extended warranty. Am I in big trouble? I can still manually dial out, but I can't see anything (like all the controls and all the numbers I've got programmed in). Right now, I have a text message, but I can't read it.
