option 1 I guess. I am at $60, (primary), and my other phone is $9.99.

    Two possibilities.

    1) You're on a family plan, and your phone is not billed at over $70. All of the phones on the account except for the primary line are billed at $9.99 and do not qualify for the early upgrade. You could also be on an older family plan where the primary line is billed at $40, and the other phones are billed at $9.99 or $20. Or your phone number may not be the primary phone line on the account. Any one of these would prevent your phone line from being eligible for the early upgrade. It's not the account balance after taxes and text packages and everything; it's the base amount that you pay for that line.

    2) You got a representitive that didn't know what he was talking about.

I would say that option number 1 is more likely, but try calling customer service and asking them specifically about an early upgrade. If they don't know what it is, they'll find out and be able to tell you whether or not you're eligible.

no, they wouldn't let me. I went to the store yesterday, the guy gave me that story, "wait here, lets see what I can do", my plan is over $70. I have 11 mos. to go before I can get a phone on discount. He came back and said, "There's nothing I can do"

They do. It's called a NE2. You signed a contract that said you would use that phone for two years. They let you get a new phone 2 months before the agreement is over. If there's something that goes wrong that's covered under the manufacturer's warranty, then your phone will be replaced. If you break your screen, that's your fault. That's why they offer insurance when you purchase a phone. You might also qualify for an early upgrade. If your phone is on a plan that's $59.99 or up, they will let you get a phone for the advertised price.

    I made a mistake. I have a VX8100. The VX6000 is what I gave to my daughter.
My phone was only 1 year old, the battery about 4 mos. old. I ended up buying a used razr phone from Ebay since Verizon will not give me any discounts on new phones. Even if I wanted to sign up for another contract! Doesn't matter that I have been a customer of them for 5 years now. Doesn't matter that I have 2 phones with them and signing another one up in less than a month. All they say is that I get my discounted phone in October 2007! They really should give some sort of discount if you have been a customer for awhile.

I would just get a new phone. That phone is pretty old in terms of cell phones.

Yeah, but meanwhile, that "abstract picture" on my faceplate is growing and growing!!!! Its just a coincidence that this happens right as soon as my faceplate cracks and I get abstract art?

Actually, the "let it die and recharge" method doesn't really apply any more. That's a rumor that's left over from nickel cadmium rechargeable batteries. The newer lithium ion batteries don't develop memory problems.

It sounds to me like you just need to buy a new battery. Batteries typically last about a year to a year and a half. Sometimes they will last longer, sometimes less. I've seen them go as long as 4-5 years and as short as 2 months, but a year is about standard. I'd check out your local Verizon store to get a replacement battery.

Something might have happened internal since you placed it in your cup holder all those other times... as for the battery, let it die then recharge it I have had to do that with my chocolate, it resets the battery or sometihng, bc it knows how long its suppose to be on the charger, etc etc..

If this doesnt help, sorry that I am useless. lol but if your with verizon, liek I assume, bc LG.. but at any rate, ask them... they always offer free advice also.

I have a VX6000 for 1 year now. I don't abuse my phone, never ever dropped it, etc. The other day, I put my phone in my cupholder, (only place to put it), and I don't know if this was the cause, but the cupholder gets warm, and the faceplate on my phone cracked within 15-20 minutes. The picture on my phone dissappeared, almost looks like abstract art! So then I had to open up my phone in order to see who was calling, looking at the time, etc. No problem. A little inconvenient, but not enough to buy a new phone. And no, I didn't buy insurance. Well now its 2 days later and I notice that it doesn't hold a charge. You can charge all night long, but once you disconnect from your charger, it holds a charge for 5-6 hours, then it dies. Yes, its also a new battery, about 4-5 mos. old. My question is, since the faceplate cracked, is it an inner problem, like something heating up inside and messing my whole system up?
