okay I figured it out. its a ***** but it works. Take the mp3 you want as your ringtone. Trim it with an audio editor so its exactly what you want your ringtone to sound like. export it as a .wav file. this forum wont let me post url's, but you need to download wscma2s210. its on the yamaha website.
use this to convert the wave file into sma2, the extension will say ".mmf". right click to rename the file, and change the extension to ".mid". email this file to your phone, the address will be "[email protected]". select it as your ringtone and enjoy..... the quality is horrible, the volume is really low, and it takes like 20 minutes, but it works, and lets you get around tmobiles stupid crap.

PS try to email the jar files to your phone, lemme know how that works.

i have almost the same problem there buddy.... thing wont let me set mp3's as ringtones... greyed out... I think there maybe a mp3 to mmf converter out there, might work, but the phone specs indicate that it will happily play mp3 ringtones so I dont know what the issue is... thats 2 of us. someone should know a solution here

Ok I seem to be having some issues here. Managed to get bluetooth working with file transfers for the most part. My buddy gave me some MP3 ringtones, but the software isn't allowing to set them as ring tones. The option is greyed out. Any ideas how to get them working as ringtones?

Also another bluetooth issue, I can't seem to upload JAR files via bluetooth to my phone. It just errors out when I accept the transfer. Any ideas?
