I just got the 8600 and love it... i went from a 3 yr old Audiovox cdm-8600(with no music, no camara, no NOTHING) to the 8600 and i can't believe the diff. in features.

What are you talking about? The 8300 is all about the MP3 player, it even has the MP3 player controls right on the front of the flip!

Can you modify the MMSC -- multi-media server -- as well as the WAP Gateway, Port, and Home Address?

I've got a VX-7000 I may upgrade soon, but only if I can modify those settings to run my own gateway and pix/flix server.

i just picked up the 8600 2 days ago and my sister has had the 8300 for about 4 months now

the 8300 is a great phone but does not have the mp3 player and frankly its an ugly phone

the 8600 is really slim (not my thing) but with the leather case its bearable and i like the new GUI on the 8600 way more

not true. I have the 8600 and you can assign ringtones to any contact just like any other phone.....That would've been a shocker if it didn't have that feature.

I have had the chance to run this phone through it's paces. I can say that I really like this phone.

I had no problems with the flat keys at all. The phone has a sensitivity setting that allows you to determine how sensitive you want the keys to be.

The mp3 player on the front is still fun to use, and I like the fact that you can now read your text messages on the front screen again.

This phone is build well, felt good in my hands, and people on the other end said they could hear me loud and clear as I could them.

All in all, if i was on the lookout for a new phone, this would definately be the phone I'd get.

I guess one concern is that the 8600's flat buttons are a problem. How are they?

So I need to upgrade my phone. I'd been thinking of getting the 8300 as it looked like that had the best reviews. Then I saw the 8600. Its only 30 dollars more and looks a lot cooler. What are some of the key differences? I'm sure they both have good phone call quality. Anything else to consider? I like that the 8600 is smaller.

    So any thoughts? Thanks
