Unfortunately with the 8100 you cannot send rintones to your phone this way. They will only go to My_sounds and there is no way to set sounds as ringtones.

Saved you a second or two.

Try this Phonescoop forum. Key word: ringtone.

Hey everyone, yes, i'm a n00b. Anyways, i was wondering if there was a way to send a made ringtone to my phone and use it as the ringtone. The problem I am having is that the when I send a file through a message, it either says to big to on the phone, or when i actually get it, it is in the sounds section so i can't set it as a ringtone. I am so frustrated, by the way my phone is a LG VX8100 with a 512MB card, but i dont have a card reader on my laptop so i cant do it that way. Any help is appreciated.
    Josh
