I don't know how to answer your problem.

But I can tell you this, you can only port number from one carrier contract phone to another carrier contract phone. You can also go from prepaid phone to contract phone. But you can not go from a contract phone to a prepaid phone. As for prepaid phone to another prepaid phone, I am not sure.

Also when you switch to another carrier, you have to make sure your account is still active NOT canceled.

For Christmas I got a T-Mobile to go prepaid phone. I activated it with a new number, called T-mobile to port my old number over to it (from Virgin Mobile). They said 24-48 hours, I would recieve a text message to confrim the switch. Well its been well over 48 hours, and ive gotten nothing. Is there something else I need to do, or do I just have to be patient? If I go to Porting: Transfer Your Wireless Phone Number to T-Mobile and enter my number in there it does say that it is in the process of being ported over. I just dont see why it would take this long. Any help would be appreciated.
