i bought a 1g mini sd card and a card reader to put songs onto my phone using the same method, and it didnt work. i downloaded an MP3~WMA converter, and my phone recognized the file, but wouldnt play it. so i returned the card and the card reader, and bought the music essentials kit. saved me 20 bucks and it works much better

ok well none of this is getting to the actual point of wich i think it was meant for. I am having the same problem. I cant figure out how to get the ringtones to work with a particuar format, i have tried wma mp3 mp4 and qcp. None of wich will register in the phone. Qcp although shows up in the phone it still will not play or show up in my sounds or music. I also am using a microsd to transfer my files. Can anyone pls help to figure out exactly how to convert an mp3 to a format that will work and if so then what?

ok well this solution kind of works but its so much of a hassle its not even worth it. You cant even close the flip part of the phone without the music turning off

I am just curious as to why why I try to sync the songs through Windows Media Player 10 why it always comes up as error what am i doing wrong here

HOW TO PLAY MUSIC in MP3 format on SAMSUNG a930

Hello, I have purchased a SD card (1 gig) in order to listen to music on my phone. I also purchased a card reader so the card could be connected to my PC. (I didnt get the "kit" with the USB cord FYI) I formatted the SD card and now I see all of the folders that it created on the SD card. Now here comes the tricky part. In a perfect world it seems like I would just be able to drag any Mp3 from my computer and put it into the My music folder and everything work. Well with the 930 it does not seem to want to do that. I draged a legal Mp3 that I pulled off a cd of mine and put it into the My music folder. I then put that tiny little card into my phone, the phone did not recognize that I had any music on it. I went into the memory options and the phone did notice that I had a SD card in it and the SD card said it had space being used on it. So this leads me to think that the file i am trying to use is not the right format or bit rate or something like that. If you could help in anyway that would be GREATLY appreciated.. I have been fooling around with this thing for about 3 hours now and im ready to throw it out of the window.

BTW through all of my tinckering i managed to get the phone to realize that I had a song on the SD card. When I tried to play the song I got an error saying the license is not legal or something like that.

    Thanks in advanced !
