You do have to have some kind of data feature on any of Verizon's smartphones. If you do not intend to use the Q to connect to the internet for your e-mail or to surf the web, you can set up "pay as you go" kilobyte usage on your line. Be aware that if you do use the internet features, even a little bit, it can cost you a fortune this way. However, if you are just going to connect the device to your PC or Laptop to "hard" sync the calendar, you won't incur any data costs.

I went up to my local verizon corporate(?) store (has working phones) to check out my phone selection for my 2 year upgrade. I was really intrested in the Q mainly because it has outlook calendar. I keep a calendar for school and everyday stuff and really want a phone I can bring this with me. Well the Q happens to be the most affordable phone with this option and has a few other cool features. I'm not looking for email, internet, or anything like that.

Anyways, the guy there told me in order to sync my calendar from my pc I would have to pay atleast $30 a month for a data plan. I really don't get this when I'm connecting it to my computer and just updating what is already on teh phone. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I explained myself pretty black and white but still he must have misunderstood me. Thanks for any help!
