I actually hate FIDO. Until last december, I was doing everything through the Eaton Centre store in Toronto, and the service was actually demeaning. It's like I was just being a pain in the ass to them, and the staff made it clear they thought I wasn't good enough to be their customer. When I went to replace my first handset (it was left outside in the rain) they wouldn't let me walk in to the store and buy a new one. I had to call and order one from Montreal, since the phones in the store were for "new customers only" (note--I had to replace my dead phone BY PHONE!!--does anyone see the irony in this?). When I moved out west, they wouldn't change my billing address, and so the bills got sent back to some random stranger in my old apartment.

Last April, I got a phone call offering $100 credit on my bill, no strings attached. What they didn't tell me was that I would get locked into a new 2-year contract by accepting it, which I apparently have to blow $400 to get out of.

This morning was the last straw--8 am on a saturday, my FIDO handset rings-I've since bought a Telus phone since I can barely get a signal at my house in Banff--and a pre-recorded voice asked if I was happy with my Fido service. What, they don't care enough about their customers to have a real person ask how the service is?

Well I just got a Fido plan tonight! YES I went to Rogers but they were out of KRZR's for another month.. I was not thinking of waiting so, as I was leaving I see a Fido booth and decide to check out their plan, great plan and cheap KRZR I got the $35 unlimited talk plan with 16 dollar bundle GREAT DEAL. I recommend it to all. Their service at the booth was great and I'm loving this cheap phone/plan. I love Fido.

I was on rogers (before they got bought out by them!), but i came back to fido because of the per second billing. The only thing i dont like about Fido is the quality of the phones. Just wish they had more selection. Other than that, i still think they're the best in Canada

I'm not a big fan of paying 20 cents per minute, and everyone else I know pays nothing or very little for text messaging, but I'm paying 15 cents. The plan was to buy a 10 dollar a month phone card, but if I do this then I'm paying 30 cents per minute. Now I'm stuck buying 20 dollar a month phone cards, and that probably won't even last as I enjoy text messaging -- something I was told would be free -- and also 20 cents per minute; and we all know how fast those minutes fly past you. I also hear that refilling on hours is a long process.

With Rogers pay as you go, refilling was easy and fast.

If I like my phone, but dislike Fido, would it be possible to buy a new SIM card with a Rogers plan?
If the phone is unlocked you can bring it over to rogers. If you bought it directly from fido it would be locked to them. I would try calling them up to see if they would unlock it for you no charge because you want to move to a rogers service. If they wont do it for you it wont cost much to have it done by someone elce. I would do a little bit of searching online.

    100$CPF to both of you.

I am going to have to edit this. These seems to be a problem with the Donate and Store section of this site. Remind me when the problems are fixed and I might give you a bit more than 100

I like Fido too, the second billing is perfect. but i have a question, when will they do '10-4'? the Walkie-Talkie thing?
and when they do, will it cover all the states too?
And how do I unlock my Nokia6020 to accept other sim cards?

Appart from that, all is well with me.

Well not personal experience, but a friend has had terrible experience with them, but it seems it depends on the luck - some people have given good reviews.
