Instructions for the Samsung SGH-T619... the ways I know anyway.

ONLY if you have the Scott Stapp song that was included with the phone:
    1. Bluetooth/data cable song into your Music folder on your phone.
    2. On the phone do: Menu > Settings > Sound Settings > Incoming Call > Ring tone > 'Music' ...
    3. Select the Scott Stapp song as your ringtone.
    4. Immediately go back into the Music list and select the song you want. (When you hit select nothing will happen)
    5. Hit Back. (It will still show the old song as the ringer... ignore that.)
    6. Hit Save.
    7. Enjoy

NO Scott Stapp song, much easier:
    1. Add song to your iTunes library.
    2. Right-click desired song and select 'Convert selection to ACC'
    3. Find the converted file (now a .m4a file) and change the extension to .3gp
    4. Bluetooth/data-cable it over to your 'Music' folder using the 'Transfer Files' operation in Samsung PC Studio.
    5. On the phone do: Menu > Settings > Sound Settings > Incoming Call > Ring tone > 'Music' > select file, Save.

I haven't noticed any special things you need to do to make either of these ways work. (length, size, profile pic, etc) They should work straight up.

Hit options button 3GPP next audio next AAC-LC (music) now i set the data rate at 160 it worked output 48k channels stereo encoding best frames setting not nessesary. Put in Bluetooth exchange folder your adapter software should have created one when installed, go to bluetooth on phone my devices connect find file in folder select get, then find file in filemanager/sounds set as ringtone. My wife has the same phone it works great..

The 629 is easy just keep them under 30 secs and the bitrate under 192
Can't thank you enough. I'm getting this stuff done piece by piece.

Thanks for the info Philips sgh-d807. I'm all over it. Also, didn't mean to have conflict in title. I suppose my issue is after syncing the file on the phone, how do I assign as ringers? Robb4248, does that mean you're offering up some instructions too?

    I have a Samsung SGH-d807
To put mp3's on your phone to use as ringtones you must cut them down to 600k or less. I read in another thread you can use Audacity. I personally like SonicStage Mastering Studio, but I don't klnow if it is available for free downloads.

For instructions on assigning ringtones or pictures to contacts go here: SAMSUNG's Digital World - Support

Remember in order to be successful in assigning ringtones and pictures to contacts you must have the contact saved to your phone, NOT your sim, and you must have the area code included in the phone number or it won't work. It took me a few days to figure that out.

Well, your post and the title conflict. Which are you looking to do, put ring tones ON the phone, or ASSIGN them?

That's quite a hefty task, but there are guides for several of them around here, why not try using the Search function?

Can someone please tell me how to assign ringtones to these phones. Sprint is the carrier. Samsung SPh-M500, sph-M610, samsung MM-a900 or sph-a900.

    T-Mobile is the carrier for SGH-T629, SGH-T619 and 609, SGH-T719, SGH-509 and 519.

Cingular is the carrier for SGH-D807, SGH-ZX20, and the Blackjack. Thanks all.
