thank you to betterthanyou for the reply, I was able to find out the problem on freeringers.net... MY PROVIDER IS A DINK!!!

"All currently known Telus Mobility phones do not allow ringtone or image downloads from third party Internet sites. Therefore, Telus Mobility phones will not work with our service (nor any third party service). If you still want to test your phone, use your phone's Internet browser and access wap.freeringers.net to download and use the test files in their intended usage. Standard Internet fees apply.

If you have a Telus Mobility phone and can download our test files and use them on your phone, please contact us to add your phone as a supported model. Please note that a successful test is downloading and using the test files as a ringtone or wallpaper.

Can we add support for Telus Mobility? The simple answer is probably not. The reason we can't add support is because Telus Mobility doesn't allow you to download files from 3rd party sites. Even if you're paying for the Internet, they don't allow you to fully use the Internet. You may want to consider a cellular company that allows you to download files from anywhere."

Maybe I should have read the fine print before I signed on... anyone know of anything I can do? (besides change my provider... of course)

Hey all... I have a question that may or may not have been disussed already (I couldn't find it).

I just acquired a SCH-U510 and the one thing that I REALLY want to do is put the theme song from The Life Aquatic of Doctor Zissou as my ringtone (I know... pretty lame...but).

On the net there is all sorts of info about the track as an MP3 for a ringtone BUT I live in Canada and my provider has put a block into the firmware that tells the phone to accpept nothing but MP3s from the provider.

Is there anything I can do?

Any help would be nice, thanks!
