my N80 had the prob u are describing also it made random calls to people on my contact list and a couple of times it shut off plus the charger i got w/it was defect and the usb cable and computer didnt get along sometimes. but WLAN fm radio mp3 player call quality, mp3 ringtones, video record/edit playback all worked fine so for a couple of months i had to live w/the other issues than finally nokia came up w/ a firmware update i went to their website and updated it now everything works fine. the cam still takes about 2 sec now so its a little better than before.

Yes. But it's going to come at a hefty price. AFAIK, it goes for at least 800 USD. I'm going to wait for at least 6 months to get one for later fw versions to come out for it.

Yeah, it can be frustrating at times when you have to wait at about an average of 4 - 5 seconds everytime. Perhaps a firmware update would help your situation a little bit. However, fw updates can only do so much. If you don't see any major improvements, then you might want to move to another device with hardware that handles quicker. Maybe try going for the N73...unless you're aiming your sights on the N95.

I can't stand how long it takes between shots, or even for the camera to start up. I love the quality of the photos, I really want to replace my digi cam but only if I can make the camera work faster. Is there any way? Hack? faster card?
