You must format card on the phone 1st.
4gig is the largest card to use.
Mine works pretty well except for sometimes it just stops and says 'no music found"
then I have to restart the phone.

    i880microcard
I just bought a Memory card for my i880 (microSDHC 4g)
This are the steps I did
1.- Inserted the card into my PC
2.- Filled it with mp3 files inside on a "MUSIC" folder
3.- Insterted the card into my i880
    4.- Turned on the phone
5.- Tried to open the Music Player but it wont find any file

Do I NEED to buy an USB cable? I did transfer the files already (manually from my PC to the memory card)

    Thanks =)

    • When I have the 4g it, I don't get the "remove card" option
    • My files are mp3 files and they are in the 'music' folder
    • I want to format the 4g, but the hand book has no instructions on how to format???
    • I read in this forum that these phones don't work with cards over 512. I don't see that in the book, can anyone confirm if it's true?
    • I was going to try to hook the phone up to the pc directly, but what kind of cable do I use and where does it go? directly over the inserted sim card?
    • The error I get is when I choose the Music Player; "No music files found"

Thanks in advance for any help!
To format card... See page 36: http://www.nextel.com/assets/pdfs/en...es/i880/ug.pdf

Get USB data cable off ebay.
+512 cards will work just fine.
Make sure all files in the music folder are of the same format.
see my media format sticky as mentioned above.

The webjal site has every troubleshooting issue required.
server issues indicate internet connection issues: firewall, blockers, vista problems, etc

You do not need a plan to use the media player on the i880.

Format your memory card, and put the MP3 songs in the Music folder of the card. You will need a USB card reader on the PC, or a USB data cable for PC to phone.

Open the media player and play your songs.
See my iDEN links sticky: Nextel Guides & Tutorials, and Media formats for more info.

Mot says it does not support anything higher than 512 and that is why Motorola's iden division does not sell anything above 512 megs. If your 1 or 2 gig card works above the 512 mark then you are ahead of the game!
I used a 1GB card in my i880, but the question was this PM:

    Thanks,
    Jean
I suggested using a i880 SIM card then...This is from the manual:

It's me again, still with the same problem. I don't know what to do next. The song shows in the player but everytime I click on play I get a message that the player is paused. Is there a setting in the phone that causes the player to stay in pause?
Maybe I am still doing something wrong I would appreciate you walk me thru the steps of playing a song using the Music Player in my i880 Motorola cell phone.
