I was tempted to... but I'm a little scared I might make it worse. Plus the fact I wouldn't know where to start. I have only basic knowledge (and common sense) which is how I fixed the other two. The Nokia I fixed by cleaning the PCB and just by sheer luck it worked. The LG I had to get a replacement PCB from another broken phone to fix it.

The Samsung is working fine except for that one problem. I will try looking into it soon, but I thought it best to ask people with more experience than myself, before having to splash out money at a repair shop.

P.S: I'm useless with solder, if a connection is loose, is there an easier way to repair it?

If you have experience working on hardware try ensuring that all the hardware connections are tight inside the phone. Unexplained restarts are very often hardware issues.

    Hello everyone.

I'm new to these forums and have a problem with a phone I've bought. I dabble sometimes in phone repair and have managed to bring a water damaged Nokia 6131 back from the dead (which I now happily use) and an also water damaged LG U880 in pink (had to get a few parts for that) back to working order and flashed it to work with all networks. I've sold that and have got hold of a phone I had always wanted; a Samsung e530 in Oasis Blue (I LOVE blue).

The phone works, however it has an extremely annoying problem. It likes to reset itself (especially when you're doing something important like changing settings and using bluetooth, but most of the time it does what it wants). It does the "fading away" thing that it does when it turns itself off and then has to search for the SIM all over again, but the one it does the most is where a picture of a SIM card with an arrow pointing away from it appears.

This completely stops anything you were currently doing... I feel that it would perhaps need reflashing (I would like to debrand it, as well as unlock it completely) as it seems to be holding a charge well enough and the person I got it from said she spoke to her service provider (Orange) and they sent her a new battery, but the problem still remains. I've done another thing to it which also confuses me, but I'll save that for another thread... can anyone help me with the "resetting" problem?
