That's a good explanation, but let me simplify it here. With the old ABC method, you would have to tap each number key multiple times to ***** a word (5-5-5-6-6-6-8-8-8-3-3 *****s LOVE) but with T9word, you only tap one key per letter and the phone guesses what you're trying to type (I typed 5-6-8-3 on my phone and it gives me the choice between LOVE or LOUD). Some phones will give you a list of words to select, while others might require you to press the up or down arrows to view your alternate choices. If a word isn't in T9word, some phones allow you to add custom words to the list.

@problemchild31: I took your email addy out of your post for a good reason! Posting your email address in a PUBLIC forum is like signing yourself up for a hundred different spam lists all at the same time. If you ever have to post your email in a public place, you should re-format it to confuse the spam-bots. I would type mine like this: brad729 AT gmail DOT com, perhaps explaining in the post to replace the ALL CAPS words with the appropriate symbols. Sounds silly, but it fools (most of) the bots that spammers use to collect addies from the web (the best way to keep spam out of your inbox is to never post your email publicly, period... our site does have a secure private messaging system for your convenience ). Besides, having people email stuff back and forth defeats the purpose of a forum... replying here allows your information to help others with the same problem. Thanks!

[QUOTE=JMacnab67]Would someone explain T9word to me plese. I want to learn how to set it up for faster texting, but I dont get the concept/how it works. Thanks

I had the same problem at first but i was determined to learn it on my own, see the problem is that its so simple that it appears to be hard. All you have to do is touch each key on your cell phone keypad exactly as you would if you were using a regular computer keyboard, i know you're probably thinking yeah but a cell phone keyboard is set up differently and you're right thats where t9word comes in handy just hit the keys and the smart technology will figure out what you want to say at first it will seem awkward because until you finish typing the word it wont even look right so just do as i say and dont assume its not working for you like i did at first, i know i may be a little unclear but its really as simple as that but if you have any questions just email me and ill be happy to explain it in simplier terms.

Mod edit: email address removed, see explanation...
