We just upgraded from a Razr to the Motorola Hint. Was able to transfer all ringtones via bluetooth to the new phone. May just be the phone.

I just got a Samsung r470 a few days ago (Joplin Missouri). I am able to get ringtones by bluetooth. Done it the first day without even reading the manual.

Also myexr (google it, I can't post a link yet) works good to send to my phone via picture message. (picture message, not text).

And today i figured out how to make one with cool edit (a sound editing program). I can make one from any mp3 file and email it to the phone.

They don't show up in my ringtones. They show up in my sounds under multimedia.

I still haven't been able to use a file on the microsd card as a ringtone.

But yes, you can get tons of ringtones or make your own. I'm sure this depends on the phone.

I too have been able to send ringtones from my alltel phone to my U.S cellular Rokr, but only by way of sending it in a text message. U.S Cellular has banned sending ringtones via bluetooth here were I live.

Well....while I can't bluetooth ringtones to my Rokr, I am able to receive them from my other phone to the Rokr and use as ringtones. I can also make my own custom ones, copy them to the memory card and use as ringtones. So in other words...I'll never have to pay for ringtones

Geez....I just set up service with them Friday and it looks like none of their phones will allow you to transfer ringtones via bluetooth! They announced last year they would be putting a stop to it because tooo many people were getting ringtones for free.

DO they just do it so you have to buy the ringtones and games from them?
Depends on the phone's bluetooth profile, lifeline does not result in any searches...So who knows.

For the most part.. unfortunately yes. There are programs that you can download to change the settings on your phone usually that can use mp3's as ringtones.
