    I think they have done away with that in the newer phones because people were recording songs and setting them as ringtones, and the companies werent making money from the sale of the song.

    I have had the last few vx's and I think it was the vx700(?) where you could record your own ringtones right on the phone, just press record and then speak into the phone and you could save it as a ringtone, so i had my daughter say her name for when she calls i use her voice as a ringtone.or if my father calls it would ring"dad calling" i did this to all my contacts, with the appropriate names of course. It was like having talking caller id.I now have a vx8300 and this phone does not have this feature, i really miss it, do the 8600 or 8700 have it?
