I wonder what the purpose was of Microsoft purchasing them. I don't remember seeing them make any major changes. They have Windows Phone, but that is an operating system. If they purchased Danger, that was a handset manufacturer. So, that doesn't make much sense to me.

PDA stands for Personal Digital Assistant and is a personal productivity device, in other words, it provides a calendar, minimal word processing, network capabilities and sometimes a phone. The sidekick provides many of these capabilites while also functioning as a phone. The sidekick is produced by T-Mobile and manufactured by flextronics. Below is a review of the new sidekick.

Sidekick LX smart cell phone is made by Sharp but Microsoft/Danger designed it.
The Sidekick LX messaging phone is said to have 3G/GPS equipped for its new 2009 version. According to the info found in a survey, the new Sidekick LX 2009 will also have a 3.2 megapixel camera, pre-installed social networking softwares, 3.2-inch WVGA screen and microSD card slot.

Sidekicks are actually by Danger, the OS ( or all of its features ) is made by Danger, then a company like the sk3 is manufatured by sharp, and the sk4 is by motorola, That's why if u call Tmobile all they can do is tell you basics on phone and help u setup for data, any other questions like unlocking and getting a device key ( a DK is what you need to fully unlock the SK2 or sk3 and sk4 to download third party apps ) is strickly through danger.

Danger used to manufacture SK's and I beleive the compnay was located some where in Canada, but now Sharp Electronics manufactures them. Danger's last model was the SK2, and now the SK3 is a product of Sharp.

I am confused about the Sidekick phones. I read that they were manufactured by T-Mobile but T-Mobile is only a carrier. I thought that Motorola was the manufacturer but they're not. Who is the actual maker?
