    Issue Resolved.

It would appear that as the number was being ported from Vodafone UK to Orange UK, Vodafone did not fully release the number, hence Vodafone messed up.

All sorted now and working well.

    Gateway timed out... hmm...

It could be on your side or theirs. Chances are, your IP settings are messed up on your phone (wrong gateway). Ask them to send you the Network Data and SMS setting packets to your phone.

My wife has a Samsung SGH-U600 which I bought for her on 22-june-2007 (birthday present).

Within 1 week it went faulty (all MMS GPRS etc settings and 2 pictures and 2 songs erased), it was replaced.

Now she is unable to Send or Receive SMS messages.

Orange have sent her another SIM, which we have carried out all instructions for activating and transferring numbers over, but still the problem persists.

Orange suggested RESET, which we did, no change.

I have a SE-W850i on Orange, so when the SIM's were swapped over, the problem seemed to follow the SIM.

With both original & replacement SIM, whenever we try to select Menu > Messages > New SMS Message, we get the "Gateway timed out!" error.

Couold it be that my SE-W850i SIM is a 3G and my wifes U600 SIM is a 2G?

    Does anybody have any suggestions?
