thanks for the input however I finally got the problem to work...basically I converted the id3 tags format in itunes to all the different options and one of them finally worked...I think it was the oldest version.

When happens when you change the id3 tags in a program on your computer and then transfer the file back to your sd card? Does the phone display the information correctly?

Try doing this one song at a time. It may be one file that's messing things up.

    Hi everyone,
I own an LG ax8600 (alltel) and I am having some problems with the music player function. My problem has to do with the song artist/album information (id3 tags?). I have a music library of mostly mp3 format files and I tried putting some of these files already in the mp3 format on my memory card...it worked fine the phone sorted the songs by artist/album etc without any difficulty. Then I got a 2gb card and wanted to add alot more of my library to my phone (including some of the songs that were not in mp3 format yet) so I created a new library in itunes with all the songs I wanted for my phone and converted all the song files to the mp3 file format (using itunes). The new mp3 files were placed by itunes in the seperate itunes library so I created a new library with only those mp3 files imported and copied these files to my phone. The phone recognized the songs and plays them fine but for some reason the phone can't read the artist/album info so all the songs are grouped together into one. I don't understand what went wrong because when I view the files on my computer they look the exact same as the ones that my phone had no problem sorting by artist/album...all the information is there when they are viewed in itunes also. I think it is some problem with the id3 tag version itunes converts to but I am not sure how to resolve this problem...any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Dan
